Aleyna SheradhaCERTIFIED YOGA INSTRUCTOR / IAYT Member
Aleyna takes an integrated approach to yoga. She first studied Kripalu Yoga and then the teachings of Swami Sivananda Radha for several years, moving on to study Anusara, Sivananda and Iyengar styles, receiving her certification in classical yoga and rights of passage in Houston, Texas. Aleyna is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Aleyna’s teaching style is a blend of the science of kinesiology and neuroscience and its role in yoga. This new approach has evolved as an extension of her clinical work as a Kinesiologist, which is currently being patented with research scheduled to begin at the University of Lethbridge, in the Winter of 2008. This integrated approach better enables the student to experience neuromuscular alignment, improved motor function and better breathing practices, increased flexibility, and overall well-being within.
Further, the emphasis in the classroom is on the student, not the teacher. “ It is vital that the student be able to make the posture theirs. I love to share ways in which they can extract something from the breath or pose that reveals something of themselves. Hands on adjustments are vital for this approach. When the details are explored, and you feel it, it just makes you want more .” “the student is my teacher and I the eternal student; I am constantly amazed at the transformative power of yoga.”
